How to find the church
Driving directions from various main routes.
From M25 (Jnct 11 ) (also A320 from Chertsey ) Take signposts for Woking (A320). After about 3 miles from M25 you come to a large roundabout (six crossroads roundabout) outside Woking. Take 5th exit (A3046) > Chobham. At next mini roundabout turn right onto A3046 to Chobham (local sign says "Knaphill"). Shortly after, at next mini roundabout, take 1st exit (local signpost Horsell Village ). After about 1 mile, at next roundabout, take 1st exit into Horsell Birch. This road becomes Horsell High Street. In centre of village (shopping area) access to Horsell E.C. is on the right immediately after (the only set of) pedestrian lights. There is a finger signpost pointing up the access way. |
From M3 (Jnct 3) Take A322 towards Guildford . After about 1 to 1½ miles (at end of dual carriageway) you come to a roundabout (of sorts!) take A319 to Chobham. On reaching Chobham (about 2 to 3 miles) turn right at mini roundabout (in centre of Chobham) and then shortly after, at next mini roundabout, turn left onto A3046 to Woking. Proceed for 1 to 2 miles to next mini roundabout. Turn right (2nd exit) (local signpost to Horsell village). After about 1 mile at next roundabout turn left (1st exit) into Horsell Birch. This road becomes Horsell High Street. In centre of village (shopping area) access to Horsell E.C. is on the right immediately after (the only set of) pedestrian lights. There is a finger signpost pointing up the access way. |
From M25 (Jnct 10 ) either proceed to Jnct 11 and follow as above or Follow A3 towards Guildford . After about ½ to 1 mile leave A3 (signposted Send (A247 )) to roundabout underneath it. Take A247 to Woking. After 2-3 miles (after passing through Ripley) come to roundabout. Take 3rd exit on A247 to Send > Old Woking > Woking. Follow A247 through Send, then at mini roundabout at Old Woking turn left to Woking. At next mini roundabout (Kingfield) turn right to Woking (exit 2). After about 1 to 1½ miles you come to roundabout at intersection with A320. Take 3rd exit along A320 into Woking . *Follow A320 through Woking; after passing under railway bridge (Victoria Arch), follow Victoria Way around to 5th set of traffic lights (excl. Pelican Crossings). Filter left here (by building on left called "the Lightbox") onto A3046 to Chobham and then immediately after crossing canal bridge turn left at mini roundabout into Brewery Rd. Continue about ¾ to 1 mile and turn sharp right (exit2) at mini roundabout. Road becomes Church Hill with the C of E Church on the brow of steep hill. Drop into Horsell High Street where access to Horsell E.C. is on the left immediately before (the only set of) pedestrian lights. There is a finger signpost pointing up the access way. ( NB : If you are coming from Guildford the above directions can be followed from *) If you are coming from London on A3 the above directions after crossing over M25 at Jnct 10 can be followed or you can turn right down onto M25 and proceed to Jnct 11 and follow directions as at top. |
From Guildford (and also Aldershot) on A322 When you reach the Brookwood traffic lights (just after passing under a railway bridge) turn right onto Brookwood Lye Rd ( A324 > Woking ) (NB if coming through Brookwood you will go straight across at these lights). After about 1 mile (beware of sharp left bend over Basingstoke Canal bridge) you will come to roundabout; take 3rd exit up hill to Woking (A324). Straight on at 2 mini roundabouts and passing through 2 sets of pedestrian lights, down the other side of hill to next roundabout; take 1st exit (excluding entrance to Winston Churchill School ); down hill to next roundabout. Take 1st exit and proceed for about ½ mile (passing mini roundabout) to roundabout, turn right (exit 2). Continue for about half a mile to next roundabout; take 3rd exit onto Horsell Birch - this becomes Horsell High Street. In centre of village (shopping area) access to Horsell E.C. is on the right immediately after (the only set of) pedestrian lights. There is a finger signpost pointing up the access way.
